PRESS RELEASE

On July 22, 2022, at approximately 7:34 a.m., State Police responded to a fatal crash involving two motor vehicles on State Route 11 in the town of Burke.

A preliminary investigation has determined that a 2013 Audi A6 being driven by Zackrey J. Peck, 28, of Ellenburg Depot, was travelling west on SR-11 and crossed into the eastbound lane of travel, striking an oncoming 2019 Ford F-250, being driven by Mark W. Boyer, 51, of Chateaugay, NY.

As a result of the crash, Peck died at the scene. Boyer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

An autopsy will be scheduled at a date to be determined to identify the cause and manner of Peck’s death.  State Police were assisted with the investigation by local fire and EMS departments and Franklin County Fire Police.
