PRESS RELEASE
 On July 23, 2021, at approximately 12:04 p.m., State Police responded to a two-car crash on State Route 3 in the town of Harrietstown, near the Panther Mountain trailhead. A 2015 Subaru Impreza operated by 37-year-old Bernard J. McCormick II of Saranac Lake, was traveling east and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado operated by 33-year-old Nicholas Alonge of New Windsor, NY who was traveling west. McCormick died as a result of the crash. Nicholas Alonge was transported to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake for a broken leg. A passenger in Alonge‚Äôs truck, 32-year-old McKenna Alonge was transported by Life Flight to University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT, for a head injury. 9-month-old Emilia Alonge was not injured. The Alonge family have all since been released. Several motorists who were on scene at the crash rendered assistance by removing the members of the Alonge family from their vehicle immediately following the crash. This crash remains under investigation.
