PRESS RELEASE
State Police in Marcy are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Saturday, September 16, 2023, on Shanley Road west of Ford Road in the town of Marshall, Oneida County.
A 2023 Hyundai pickup truck, operated by Patrick P. Dougherty, age 61 from Clinton, NY was traveling westbound on Shanley Road at a high rate of speed when he drove off the north shoulder of the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned multiple times before striking a utility pole.
Dougherty was pronounced deceased at the scene.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Paris Hill Fire Department, and Edwards Ambulance Service.
