PRESS RELEASE
State Police in Oneida are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 46 near Lock Road in the town of Verona.
The preliminary investigation has determined at approximately 11:05 p.m., a 2014 GMC Van (U-Haul box truck), operated by James J. Short, age 35 from Canastota, NY was traveling north on Rt. 46 when he struck a 2006 Dodge pickup truck operated by Christopher J. Moore, age 30 from Blossvale, NY head-on.
Mr. Short was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Moore was not injured in the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
State Police were assisted at the scene by New London Fire Department, Sylvan Beach Fire Department, and AmCare Ambulance.
