At approximately 3:46 a.m. the New York State Police in Brunswick responded to a report of a home invasion at 151 Jay Herrington Rd in Pittstown.

The preliminary investigation has determined the occupants of the residence woke up to multiple suspects attempting to force entry into the home.

During the incident, 19-year-old Nathaniel M. Miller suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
 

At this time is it is believed that three suspects were involved. Following the shooting the suspects ran into the wooded area behind the residence.

The investigation is active at this time. Preliminary information suggests this was a targeted shooting and the parties involved knew one another. There is not believed to be an ongoing threat to the community.
