At approximately 4 p.m. on June 11, 2022, State Police responded to a possible drowning in the Hudson River in the area of Davern Road, in the town of Lake Luzerne.

Preliminary investigation determined that Wilfredo Arizmendi, 48, of Hartford, CT, was boating with family when he entered the water to swim. Arizmendi began to exhibit distress shortly after. He was thrown a floatation device but continued to struggle to stay above water.

Arizmendi was pulled back aboard with the assistance of another boat that was in the area. He was transported to Glens Falls Hospital where he was declared deceased.
