On April 11, 2020, shortly after 1 a.m., State Police arrested four individuals as a result of an armed robbery at a residence on Windmill Road in the town of Malone. The victim was robbed at gunpoint and property was taken from him.

The arrests stemmed from a report of a suspicious vehicle. Troopers located the vehicle as it was leaving the area and the following suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of weapons, drugs, and other proceeds of the robbery: 

20-year-old Daniel D. Morehouse, of Claverack, New York

19-year-old Zachary Korth, of Essex, Vermont

17-year-old male, of Milton, Vermont

16-year-old male, of Essex, Vermont

                                                                                                      

Morehouse was charged with one count of Robbery 1st degree.

Korth was charged with one count each of Robbery 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, a section under the NY Public Health Law: Willful Violation of Health Laws, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree.

 Morehouse and Korth were arraigned in the Town of Malone Court where Morehouse was remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash, or $20,000 bond. Korth was remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash, or $100,000 bond.   

The 17-year-old was charged with one count each of Robbery 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, a section under the NY Public Health Law: Willful Violation of Health Laws, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree.

 The 16-year-old was charged with one count each of Robbery 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, a section under the NY Public Health Law: Willful Violation of Health Laws, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. 

The two teens were arraigned in the Town of Westville Court and released on their own recognizance.
