PRESS RELEASE

On Sunday, July 11, 2021, at approximately 4:00am, troopers responded to a call for a two-car collision and shots fired on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, Suffolk County.  It is alleged that the victim’s vehicle was intentionally struck by Mitchell Williams, 40 years-old, of the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, NY who also allegedly fired shots during the incident. 

 

Williams was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of a shotgun, later determined to be stolen. 

 

Williams is being charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st, a D-Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, a D-Felony, Criminal Mischief 2nd, a D-Felony, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th, an E-Felony, Menacing 2nd, an A-Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, an A-Misdemeanor.  

 

Williams was arraigned in the town of Southampton Court and released.
