PRESS RELEASE

 

On January 23, 2020, at 5:41 p.m., State Police responded to 1804 Vienna Road in the Village of Sylvan Beach for a snowmobile crash.

The investigation has revealed a 2009 Subaru Forrester, operated by James D. Tyler, age 35, from Blossvale, N.Y., was driving southbound on Vienna Road when a 1995 Ski-Doo snowmobile, operated by Brian A. Hatton, age 30 from Sylvan Beach, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the passenger’s side of the vehicle.

Hatton was not wearing a helmet and had struck his head during the collision.  He was transported by Vineall Ambulance to Upstate University Hospital and is listed in stable condition. 

Mr. Tyler was tested and showed no signs of any alcohol/drug impairment.

The investigation is continuing.
