PRESS RELEASE
 

On October 12, 2020, at approximately 9:42 p.m., State Police responded to the Warners Service Area, located at 2670 Brickyard Road, in the town of Van Buren for a reported stabbing.  Upon arrival, the 33-year-old male victim, from Miami, Florida was located and was treated for a stab wound to his back.  The suspect, Alexander G. Campos, who is known to the victim was located in close proximity to the incident location.    

The investigation has revealed that both parties were engaged in a verbal dispute when Mr. Campos produced a knife and stabbed the victim in his back.  The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital in the city of Syracuse where he is listed in stable condition.

Alexander G. Campos, age 43 from Hialeah, Florida was arrested for Assault 2nd degree, a class ā€œDā€ felony and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, a class ā€œAā€ misdemeanor.  He was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending Centralized Arraignment.
