UPDATED PRESS RELEASE

 

 

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Herkimer announce the arrest of Michael J. Andreev Jr., age 22, from 1402 State Route 167, Jordanville, N.Y. for (2) counts of Murder 2nd degree ( class A-1 felony) and (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree ( class "A" misdemeanor) in the deaths of his father Michael J. Andreev Sr., age 67 and his 12-year-old sister Sofia Trusova.  
Michael J. Andreev Jr. was arrested after he was discharged from Upstate University Hospital. He was subsequently arraigned in the Town of Herkimer Court and was remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility without bail.

The investigation is continuing.


The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Herkimer continues to investigate the two deaths that occurred at 1402 State Rt. 167 in Jordanville.

The two deceased individuals have been identified as Michael J. Andreev Sr., age 67, and his 12-year-old daughter Sofia Trusova, both residents of this address. The suspect is identified as Michael J. Andreev Jr., age 22, same address, and is still hospitalized at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

The investigation is continuing at this time and more information will be released as it becomes available.


On September 19, 2021, at approximately 7:11 p.m., State Police in Troop C (SP Richfield Springs) and Troop D (SP Herkimer) responded to 1402 State Route 167 in the Town of Warren for a stabbing incident.

When Troopers and EMS arrived, they discovered a male and female stabbed.  Both were pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The suspect in the incident was located in the front yard with a laceration to his neck and was air-lifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition.

The investigation is currently ongoing. Names of those involved are being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
