State Police responded to a residence on Englemore Road in the Town of Clifton Park last night, after a 911 call was placed reporting a home invasion.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., the victims went to their front door to investigate after their dogs began barking. Upon opening the door, they were confronted by a male suspect brandishing a black handgun.

The suspect pushed their way into the residence and demanded money. The victims turned over US currency, and the suspect then fled the scene. The victims were not injured and no physical force was used by the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’11” with a medium build. He wore a camouflage hunting jacket, dark pants, and was wearing a backpack. At this time it is believed that the victims may have been specifically targeted.

Though Troopers do not believe that the general public is in any danger, they are reminding residents to remain vigilant. Keep doors and windows locked, and valuables out of sight. Do not open the door if you don’t know the person on the other side. If you see something suspicious in your neighborhood, report it to police.

Anyone who may have information is asked to contact SP Clifton Park 518-383-8583.
