PRESS RELEASE

On July 31. 2022 at approximately 11:52 p.m. troopers observed a 2020 Ford Mustang traveling on Peenpack Trail in Huguenot, a hamlet of Deerpark, in violation of several New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws. When troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, the operator, later identified as Brittaney Brush, age 29 from Huguenot, failed to stop. She traveled to a residence on Somarelli Drive and exited the vehicle.  When troopers attempted to take her into custody, Brush fled the area on foot and was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. A search of the vehicle yielded a small amount of drugs.

Brush was charged with the misdemeanors; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree, Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (DWAI). She was also issued 31 tickets. She was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Deerpark Court.
