Brooklyn, New York – On August 3, 2020 at approximately 12:40 a.m., Troopers from SP Rockaways responded to assist the N.Y.P.D. with an accident near Exit 15 on the Belt Parkway.
While proceeding to the accident with emergency light activated, the Troopers’ patrol vehicle was struck from the rear by a 2013 Nissan, causing the patrol vehicle to overturn on the shoulder of the roadway. During the investigation, the driver of the 2013 Nissan, Josue Saintvil – an employee of the N.Y.C. Department of Corrections, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
Saintvil was issued a summons for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree – an unclassified misdemeanor. All the injured parties were treated at local hospitals for minor injuries and released.
