State Police respond to a serious assault at the Holland American Hotel, in the town of Bath.

On May 9, 2022, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the State Police responded to a serious assault at the Holland American Hotel, located at 6632 St-Rte 415 in Bath, NY.  When Troopers arrived, they discovered that Jonathan Ruggles, age 33, had been assaulted by Jose Velez, age 41, who both reside at that location.

Ruggles was airlifted to Strong Hospital with life-threatening-injuries.

State Police, after conferring with the Steuben County DA, Brooks Baker, charged Velez with Burglary 1^st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3^rd Degree, (previous conviction).

The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are pending.
