PRESS RELEASE
On June 6, 2021 at approximately 2:25 p.m., state police from the Wurtsboro barracks responded to Wurtsboro Airport for a report of a downed glider. Initial investigation revealed that a glider operated by Khanh H. Nguyen, age 64 of Tenafly, NJ was flying a glider when it crashed on the tarmac and skid off the runway. Arriving troopers immediatley began life saving measures. Wurtsboro Fire, Mobil Medic and Mamakating EMS arrived and took over life saving measures. Nguyen was transported by Helo MedEvac to Westchester Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

FAA was notified and responed to the scene.
