State Police save Lake George woman from harming herself

On June 21, 2022, Troopers out of SP Queensbury responded to a despondent woman threatening to jump from the Gurney Lane overpass onto I-87.

On June 21, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Troopers and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department responded to a woman threatening to harm herself while standing on the ledge of the Gurney Lane overpass of I-87 in the town of Queensbury.  The woman had stated she intended to jump off the bridge onto I-87 traffic.   The law enforcement agencies worked together to talk with the woman and defuse the situation.  They eventually distracted her long enough for Troopers to safely pull her back from the overpass ledge and over the guide rail.

The woman was transported to Glens Fall Hospital for further medical treatment.
