 *UPDATE* August 6, 2020- 

 

State Police confirm that they have located the body of the swimmer that went missing in Lake George yesterday afternoon. The victim is identified as 22-year-old Tanvir Miah of Bronx, NY. Miah was located in 100 feet of water near the area where he was last seen.

State Police were assisted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, The Department of Environmental Conservation, and the Lake George Park Commission Marine Patrol.

*Correction swimmer pulled from water was tranported via helicopter to Albany Medical Center, not Glens Falls Hospital.*

 

State Police are currently responding to a report of a missing swimmer in Lake George. At this time, one swimmer has been pulled from the water and was transported to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment, the second has not been located and search efforts are underway. The two men had been boating in the area of Plum Point.

 

State Police are being assisted by Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Lake George Fire Department. This is an active investigation, updates will be posted to the newsroom as they become available.
