State Police are urging citizens to be vigilant when strangers, specifically on-line, are attempting to have individuals send them money.  The latest scam in the Finger Lakes Region is threatening to release private information to the public that may be embarrassing.  These scam artists are asking for payments in Bit Coins, and say that if you don’t pay in 24 hours private - embarrassing information will be shared with their family and or friends.

Anyone having matters that resemble this alert is asked to contact law enforcement.
