Batavia, NY – On March 5, 2022, at approximately 4:00 p.m., State Police attempted to stop a vehicle on I-90 in the town of Batavia for a vehicle and traffic violation.  The driver failed to comply, and a pursuit ensued.  After a short time, the vehicle lost control and entered the median.  When the vehicle attempted to re-enter the eastbound lane, Troopers were able to block the vehicle from continuing.  The driver, who was later identified as Kadir W. Ango, 20, of Staten Island, NY, surrendered and was taken into custody. 

Ango was transported to SP Henrietta where he was subsequently charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree and Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree; both Class A Misdemeanors and Reckless Driving; an Unclassified Misdemeanor.

Ango was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Batavia Court on March 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
