Woodbury, NY – On November 18, 2022, at approximately 10:45 p.m., State Police responded to a one car property damage crash on I-87 in the town of Woodbury.  A preliminary investigation determined the driver of the vehicle, Matthew A. Moskowitz, 26, of Suffern, NY, was traveling southbound in the right lane when he left the lane and struck the concrete barrier on the western shoulder, becoming disabled.   Moskowitz was found to be intoxicated while traveling with a 12-year-old child.  Neither were injured in the crash.  Moskowitz was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Newburgh.  The child was turned over to a responsible party.   

Moskowitz’s blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.11% and was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Vehicle; a Class E Felony.  He was turned over to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Woodbury Court on December 6, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
