Bronx, New York – On August 2, 2020 at approximately 4:10 p.m., Troopers from SP Bronx arrested Jesus F. Gallagher, age 19, of Long Island, New York, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree – a class D felony.
The Troopers were patrolling the Throggs Neck Bridge and conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2020 Volkswagen, operated by Gallagher, because the vehicle was reported stolen. During the incident, Gallagher initially stopped, but then attempted to escape, continuing along the Cross Bronx Expressway while Troopers followed with lights and sirens activated. Gallagher ended up striking multiple other vehicles in heavy traffic, crashed and was taken into custody.
Gallagher was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree – a class E felony, three counts of Criminal Mischief in the 2rd Degree – a class D felony, three counts of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree – a class E felony, three counts of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree – a class A misdemeanor, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree – a class A misdemeanor, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree – a class A misdemeanor and was remanded to Bronx Central Booking pending arraignment.
