PRESS RELEASE
 

Salina, NY – On February 16, 2021, at approximately 4:00 a.m., State Police located a disabled vehicle on the I-90 eastbound acceleration ramp at exit 36, in the town of Salina.  While Troopers were interviewing the driver of the vehicle, Michael H. Townsend, 39, of Syracuse, NY, he was found to be intoxicated.

 

Townsend was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Syracuse, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.11%.  Additionally, Townsend has two prior DWI convictions within the last 10 years and as a result was charged with Driving While Intoxicated; a Class D Felony.

 

Townsend was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Salina Court at a later date.
