State Police arrested Nicholas W. Russell, age 26 from Syracuse, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

On April 10, 2020, at approximately 10:37 p.m., Troopers from Troop T, Zone 3 observed a pickup truck traveling 96 mph in a 65 mph zone on the New York State Thruway in the town of Salina, Onondaga County. Troopers stopped the vehicle and interviewed the driver, identified as Nicholas Russell.  During the interview, Troopers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle.  The driver was subsequently taken into custody and was transported to SP Syracuse, where a positive BAC of .15% was taken.

Russell was issued appearance tickets for DWI and speeding and is scheduled to appear in the town of Salina Court on May 13, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.
