On October 12, 2020, State Police arrested Lester J. Weaver, age 59 from Syracuse, NY, for the following charges:

  • Criminal Impersonation 2nd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor
  • Resisting Arrest, a class “A” misdemeanor
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor
  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor

On October 12th, at 5:20 p.m., Troopers stopped a pickup truck on West Corning Avenue in the city of Syracuse for a traffic violation. During the interview with the operator and sole occupant, Lester J. Weaver, they discovered that he provided a fake name. When they requested that he step out of the vehicle for further investigation, Mr. Weaver fled the scene.  Following a brief traffic pursuit,  Mr. Weaver then pulled into a driveway and refused to exit his vehicle. When the troopers attempted to remove him from the vehicle, Mr. Weaver continued to resist.  Troopers deployed their division issued taser, at which point Mr. Weaver became compliant and was taken into custody without further incident.

Mr. Weaver was processed at SP North Syracuse and released on appearance tickets.
