On April 2, 2020, State Police arrested a 17-year-old from the town of Plattsburgh, following a domestic dispute. The teen struck a 15-year-old in the face with a wooden stick causing a laceration. The teen suspect also threatened other members of the residence with a hammer.
The 15-year-old victim was transported to the University of Vermont Health Network at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh for his injuries.
The teen suspect was charged with Assault 2nd degree (D felony), three counts of Menacing 2nd degree (A misdemeanor), three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, (A misdemeanor), and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor).
He was transported to the Town of Peru Court for arraignment where he was released on his own recognizance. The teen is to reappear in Clinton County Court on April 3, 2020.
