PRESS RELEASE
 
On September 25, 2019, members of the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), Troop E uniform force, the Elmira Police Department and the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division conducted a narcotic investigation in the City of Elmira, NY.   
        
During the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the City of Elmira, investigators seized a loaded handgun, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, narcotics paraphernalia and a large sum of money.

Prior to the search of the residence, Elmira Police stopped a vehicle leaving the residence and recovered over 11 ounces of cocaine and a large amount of money.
 
As a result of the investigation and traffic stop, Darrell L. Davis, 45, of Elmira, NY was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (class C felony); Jermaine A. Brown, 46 of Elmira, NY was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, (A1 felony) and Ray-Shawn M. Brooks, 23 of Elmira, NY who was operating a vehicle with a suspended license was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree.  

Further charges and arrests are pending.
 
The arrests resulted from an investigation conducted by the New York State Police, the Elmira Police Department and the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division.
