On March 29, 2020, at approximately 12:40 a.m., State Police responded to a residence in Witherbee for a report of a domestic dispute. An investigation revealed that 27-year-old Benjamin S. Teriele of Ticonderoga violated an order of protection when he menaced the victim with a knife, damaged items inside the residence and punctured a tire on the victim’s car.  He left the scene prior to State Police arrival. 

Teriele later turned himself in at the Ticonderoga Police Department.  Teriele was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (D felony), Aggravated Criminal Contempt (D felony), Aggravated Family Offense (E felony), two counts of Criminal Mischief 4th degree (A misdemeanor), and Menacing 2nd degree (A misdemeanor). He was arraigned in the Essex County Court where he was remanded to the Essex County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond.
