On November 29, 2022, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Ithaca arrested Mason D. Thomas, age 23 of Ithaca, NY for two counts of the class “C” felony of Burglary in the second degree and the class “E” felony of Criminal Mischief in the third degree. 

An investigation revealed that sometime around November 22, Thomas broke into a residence on Dryden Harford Road in the town of Dryden and stole a gun safe that contained multiple firearms, jewelry and personal items.  Troopers also worked with members of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department.   

The safe was found damaged near a property on Salt Point Road in Lansing on November 25.   The investigation further revealed that Thomas burglarized the property on Salt Point Road. 

He was arrested by members of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department and turned over to New York State Police.  Thomas was processed at SP Ithaca then turned over to the Tompkins County Jail for Centralized Arraignment and Processing.
