On May 16, 2020, at approximately 11:50 p.m., State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, for having an obstructed license plate, traveling on Cold Springs Road, in the town Bombay.
The operator, Khye Charleston, 26, of Waverly, was found to have a suspended license. Subsequent to the stop, a passenger, 29-year-old Alyssa M. LaFlesh of Bombay was arrested after she interfered with the traffic stop, and failed to comply with orders given to her by the investigating trooper. She was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine.
LaFlesh was also determined to be listed on a Franklin County Family Court Order of Protection prohibiting her from purchasing, possessing or consuming any controlled substance.
LaFlesh was charged with one count each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Criminal Contempt 2nd degree, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree. She was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Bombay Court.
