Sullivan, NY – On August 23, 2019 at approximately 3:00 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 in the town of Sullivan for a vehicle and traffic violation.  During the interview of the driver, Anthony M. Monaco, 50, of Manchester, NY, it was determined that there were two active warrants for his arrest out of Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and Town of Dewitt Police Department for Grand Larceny. 
 
While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, approximately $3,059 worth of brand new sporting goods were located, along with wire cutters and an anti-theft magnetic attachment used to bypass security tags.  An investigation revealed the property was stolen from Dick’s Sporting Goods in the Syracuse area. 
 
Monaco was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Syracuse where he was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree; a Class D Felony, Possession of Burglar Tools; a Class A Misdemeanor, and a Vehicle and Traffic Violation.
 
Monaco was arraigned before the Village of Canastota Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.  No return court date is available at this time.
