PRESS RELEASE

On March 30th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Karen Denardi, 61, and Michelle Swab, 47, both of Warren, PA, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Controlled Substances by Ultimate Users Original Container. Swab was also charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

Swab was pulled over on West Perimeter Road in Steamburg for driving erratically and while speaking to Swab, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of Swab, passenger Denardi and the vehicle revealed the following items: a plastic bag containing approximately 12 grams of methamphetamine, a pipe containing methamphetamine residue, a straw containing methamphetamine residue, three hydrocodone pills in an unmarked container, a loose hydrocodone pill, two bags containing a total of approximately 28 grams of marijuana and two pipes containing marijuana residue. Denardi was processed at SP Jamestown and released with appearance tickets. As Swab had failed SFSTs, a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert evaluated Swab and concluded she was under the influence of methamphetamine and several prescription medications. A urine sample was secured from Swab and after being processed Swab was released with traffic and appearance tickets. Both Swab and Denardi are scheduled to appear in the town of Cold Spring Court on a later date to answer the charges.
