On March 4th, 2021, New York State Troopers arrested Joshua Heimerl, 24, of Dunkirk for three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, four counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree and two counts of Possession of Controlled Substances by Ultimate Users Original Container. Kelsie Briggs, 28, of Brocton was arrested by the Troopers for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.
A vehicle in which Heimerl and Briggs were passengers was pulled over on Central Avenue in Brocton for a traffic violation and while speaking to the occupants, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed that Heimerl was in possession of a container with methamphetamine, a dextroamphetamine pill, a hydrocodone pill, two scales containing drug residue, multiple glassine envelopes containing drug residue and a jar and several bags containing marijuana.  Briggs was found to be in possession of containers with cocaine residue. The driver was issued tickets and released. Heimerl and Briggs were placed under arrest, transported to SP Fredonia and processed. Heimerl and Briggs were issued appearance tickets and released, to appear in the town of Portland Court on a later date.
