PRESS RELEASE

Traffic stop leads to multiple arrests.

On February 01, 2021 at 01:00am Fredonia Troopers on patrol arrested Nicholas Vecchio, 25, of Fredonia, NY for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Justin G. Schreier, 26, of Westfield, NY for False Personation.

Troopers originally stopped Vecchio for the unauthorized lights and insufficient plate lamps on his vehicle in the town of Dunkirk.  During the investigation at the scene, Vecchio failed standardized field sobriety tests and later admitted to using methamphetamines.  Vecchio was arrested and transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for Troopers to obtain a blood sample.

Schreier, the backseat passenger in the vehicle was noted by patrols for not wearing a seatbelt.  When trying to identify him, Schreier originally gave Troopers a false name and date of birth.  Once he was properly identified, Schreier was found to have two outstanding arrest warrants for Burglary in the village of Fredonia.

Schreier was arrested and processed at SP Fredonia before being turned over to the village of Fredonia police department.

Both men are set to appear in the town of Dunkirk court later this month.
