Woodbury, NY – On December 9, 2020, at approximately 1:20 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Woodbury for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.  While interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle and the occupants was established.  The driver, Kolmarte A. Williams, 22, of Washington, DC, and two passengers, Clarence D. Sims, 20, of Perth Amboy, NJ, and Jamal L. Jackson, 19, of Newark, NJ, were taken into custody after Troopers discovered a loaded Taurus G2C 9mm handgun with a Pro Cal magazine containing 9 rounds and a Polymer80 receiver and P80 slide in the vehicle.  Additionally, a high capacity magazine containing 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition was also located.

 

The three men were transported and processed at SP Newburgh where they were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (Loaded Firearm other than in a person’s home/business); a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Firearm; a Class E Felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device; a Class A Misdemeanor.

 

They were all arraigned before the Town of Woodbury Court and remanded to Orange County Jail to await a preliminary hearing.
