Troopers stationed at SP Cobleskill arrested a Cobleskill man and woman along with a Richmondville man for the Class D Felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (crack cocaine) and the Class A Misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance 7th (heroin) following an arrest for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
Amber R. Snyder, age 40, of Cobleskill was arrested following a vehicle stop on State Route 30 near Exit 23 of I-88 in the Town of Schoharie late Wednesday afternoon. During the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, Troopers observed drug paraphernalia and detected signs of impairment. Snyder was administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she failed, and was taken into custody. Subsequent to arrest, Troopers located more than five grams of crack cocaine and more than two grams of heroin in the vehicle.
Snyder and vehicle passengers Brett Oteri, age 28, of Cobleskill and David Jutrzenka, age 61, of Richmondville were all charged with the Class D Felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (crack cocaine) and the Class A Misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance 7th (heroin).
Snyder was additionally charged with the Felony of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs – second offense following an evaluation conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert which determined that Snyder was impaired. Snyder provided a blood sample for lab analysis.
All three subjects were processed and released with appearances scheduled for August 24, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in Schoharie Town Court to answer the charges.
