A trooper and three civilians were transported to a local hospital after a three-car crash on Interstate 88 in Otsego County Monday night.
On August 10, 2020 at approximately 5:06 p.m., A trooper from the barracks in Oneonta had a vehicle stopped for a vehicle and traffic infraction on the shoulder of I-88 east in the town of Maryland. A third vehicle, failed to Move Over and crashed into the State Police vehicle, which had all of it’s lights activated. The momentum of the crash pushed the troop car into the vehicle that was stopped.
Troopers and members from the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. The trooper was transported to Bassett Medical Center by AMR Ambulance for head and neck injuries. The occupants of the vehicle that was stopped, a 21-year-old woman and three-year-old child of Edwardsville, P.A. were transported to A.O. Fox Hospital for head and neck injuries. The driver that struck the troop car, a 32-year-old female of Richmondville, NY was transported to A.O. Fox Hospital for injuries to her knee and arms.

The crash is still under investigation.
