State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash, involving a State Police patrol vehicle, that occurred at approximately 8:20 a.m., on the Onondaga Lake Parkway (State Route 370) in the town of Salina.
The investigation has revealed, a State Police patrol vehicle was parked along the eastbound shoulder of Rt 370, with the emergency lights activated, investigating a separate two-car property-damage car crash when a 2010 Ford van, operated by Jessica M. Reidy, age 38 from Skaneateles, NY struck the rear of the police patrol car.  The Trooper was transported by ambulance to the Syracuse VA Hospital with minor head and back injuries where she was treated and released.  Mrs. Reidy was issued a ticket for Failure to Move Over for an Emergency Vehicle, a violation.  She was not injured in the crash.
The Onondaga Lake Parkway was closed for several hours while the crash was investigated.  State Police was assisted at the scene by the NYS Department of Transportation and the Village of Liverpool Police Department.
