Brooklyn, New York – On December 14, 2020, at approximately 4:40 p.m., a Trooper from SP Rockaways was conducting a traffic stop on the Belt Parkway when he was struck by another vehicle. As a result of being struck, the Trooper became pinned between two vehicles and was freed by another State Trooper and two NYPD officers, who physically lifted one of the vehicles to remove him. The Trooper is currently in stable condition and being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries to his leg. The assisting Trooper is being treated for lacerations to his hand that were sustained during the rescue. The State Police would like to recognize the NYPD for assisting our Troopers during this incident, also providing additional support during the accident investigation.
