PRESS RELEASE

On November 26, 2021, at approximately 10:13 p.m., the State Police observed a vehicle traveling east bound on State Route 5 and 20 in an erratic manner in the town of Seneca.  The vehicle was then pulled over and the operator was identified as Elissa Plaza-Pierce.

Plaza-Pierce failed sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. She was transported back to the State Police Station in Canandaigua for processing.  During processing, Plaza-Pierce became combative with troopers and attempted to slip out of the applied handcuffs.  Plaza-Pierce kicked at troopers and attempted to bite them while fingerprinting her.

Plaza-Pierce refused the breath test and was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated for having a previous conviction of DWI within the last ten years.  She was also charged with Harassment and Obstructing Governmental Administration.  Plaza-Pierce was processed without further incident and transported to Ontario County Jail for CAP arraignment.
