On March 15, 2023, Troopers arrested Robert R. Brassard, age 36 of Champlain, NY for resisting arrest, criminal mischief 3rd degree and criminal contempt 2nd degree.
On March 15, 2023, around 8:33 a.m., Troopers responded to Prospect Street in the town Champlain for a physical domestic dispute. An investigation determined Brassard was involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical when he grabbed the victim’s clothing, pulling and pushing the victim around. Brassard was in violation of an order of protection during this incident. As the victim was driving away, Brassard threw a shovel at the victim’s vehicle causing damage to the trunk.
Brassard resisted arrest and the Troopers deployed OC Spray. He stopped resisting and was arrested and transported to SP Champlain for processing. Brassard was provided medical attention for the OC spray and cleared for an medical issues.
Brassard was arraigned in the Town of Champlain Court and remanded to Clinton County Jail.
