On January 13, 2022, at approximately 7:12 p.m., State Police Troopers assigned to OPERATION G.I.V.E. (Gun Initiative Violence Elimination) UNIT, working in Rochester were eastbound on Avenue D in the city of Rochester when they observed a westbound vehicle with no front plate. G.I.V.E. members conducted a traffic stop in the area of 428 Avenue D, where they were able to identify the operator as Leroy T. Reynolds, age 26, from Rochester.
It was discovered that Reynolds had a suspended pistol permit and during a vehicle inventory, troopers recovered one Ruger 9mm handgun in the center console that was loaded with 7 rounds. Reynolds was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd. Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd. Degree, (Previous Conviction).
Mr. Reynolds is currently on parole for CPW 2nd Degree from a conviction in 2015. Mr. Reynolds was transported to Monroe County Jail where he awaits pre-trial arraignment on January 14, 2022, at 9:30 a.m..
NYS DOCCS was contacted and lodged a parole warrant to hold Reynolds.
