On February 23, 2022, at about 12:54 a.m., troopers stopped a vehicle being driven by Barnes on I-95 in the city of New Rochelle for multiple traffic violations. Troopers approached the vehicle and located a box of ammunition on the center console, and Barnes admitted to being in possession of firearms.

Barnes was arraigned in New Rochelle City Court and ordered held at the Westchester County Jail on $2,500 cash bail, $15,000 insured bond or $25,000 partially secured bond. He’s due back in court on March 3, 2022.
