On November 4, 2022, Troopers arrested Savannah L. Moreau, 26 of Massena, NY.
On November 23, 2021, Troopers responded to County Route 38, in the town of Norfolk for a forgery complaint. An investigation determined an unknown female went to the victim’s residence asking to exchange money for smaller bills to be able to fix her vehicle. The female explained she needed to exchange her 4-$50.00 bills and 1-$100.00 bill to only $20.00- bill denominations, totaling $300.00 in U.S. currency. The victim was able to provide the female $276.00 in U.S. currency, Further investigation, the unknown female was identified as Moreau and she provided the victim $300.00 worth of counterfeit money.
On August 17, 2022, around 4:32 p.m., Troopers responded to County Route 38 in the town of Norfolk for a burglary complaint. An investigation determined Moreau entered the residence on August 12, 2022, around 3:30 p.m., without permission, went into the victim’s bank book at took $150.00. The victim was able to identify Moreau from a previous incident that has occurred. The victim watched Moreau leave his residence in a tan Chevrolet vehicle with Vermont plates.
Moreau was arrested and transported to SP Massena for processing for both incidents. Moreau was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st, and Petit Larceny for the incident that occurred on November 23. 2021, and charged with Burglary 2nd and petit larceny for the incident that occurred on August 17, 2022. She was arraigned in the Town of Massena Court where she was released on her own recognizances.
