On August 7, 2020, State Police in Schodack arrested 26-year-old Evan J. Pollard of Springfield, MA, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (C felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree- Narcotic Drug (C felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor), and Unlawful Possession of an Ammo Feeding Device (B misdemeanor). State Police also charged Mary M. Conrad, 27, of Stephentown, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree- Narcotic Drug (C felony) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor).
State Police stopped a vehicle driven by Evan Pollard shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, after he was observed committing a traffic infraction as he traveled on State Route 22 in Stephentown. While interviewing Pollard, the Trooper observed signs indicative of drug use and a vehicle search was conducted. Inside the vehicle the Trooper located a loaded 9mm handgun and three plastic baggies containing approximately 10 grams of cocaine. A search of Pollard’s passenger, Mary Conrad, revealed that she was in possession of approximately 15 grams of heroin.
Pollard and Conrad were taken into custody and transported to SP Schodack for processing. Both were subsequently arraigned in Stephentown Town Court. Pollard was remanded to Rensselaer County Jail on $15,000 cash or $35,000 bond, Conrad was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail on $10,000 cash or $25,000 bonds. They are due back in court at a later date.
