  Rear Seat Trap

   32 grams cocaine

 

On April 26, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., State Troopers from the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit, (CSU) were patrolling Interstate 87 in the town of Plattekill, when they observed a 2008 Mercedes Benz- ML55 traveling north in violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Troopers stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as Jonathan Persaud, age 36 from Jamaica, New York and his passenger as Anthony Henry, age 39 from Queens, New York. While speaking with troopers, Anthony Henry identified himself by another name and date of birth, Troopers eventually learned his real identity. Troopers were granted permission to search the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, troopers, with the assistance of K-9 Kell, located 32 grams of cocaine in a hidden compartment in the vehicle.

Henry and Persaud were charged with the felonies:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Intent to Sell

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree

Henry was additionally charged with Criminal Impersonation 2nd degree, a misdemeanor.

 

Both were arraigned in Plattekill Town Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail.
