On December 21, 2019, State Police on Operation IMPACT patrol in the City of Schenectady, arrested a 17-year-old for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree (E felony) and Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree (A misdemeanor).
 
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Troopers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle traveling on Brandywine Avenue in Schenectady. The operator refused to comply and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.
 
The gray 2010 Volkswagen Touran eventually came to a stop when the vehicle left the roadway on Old Albany Shaker Road in Colonie, and the driver fled on foot. A search of the area was conducted with the assistance of State Police K-9 and Aviation. The 17-year-old driver was located, taken into custody, and transported to SP Princetown for processing.
 
The 17-year-old was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Schenectady County Court- Youth Part on January 7, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
