On October 21, 2022, at approximately 2:27 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell responded to State Route 26 in the town of Maine for a report of a single vehicle crash.

When a trooper arrived, the vehicle was upside down and the male driver was still inside.  Witnesses in the area and members of Maine Ambulance were assisting the male.  He was transported by Maine Ambulance to Wilson Medical Center where he later died.  The man is identified as Mark L. Truesdail, age 65 of Endicott, NY.

An investigation revealed that Truesdail was south on State Route 26 when for an unknown reason left the roadway, went into a ditch, which caused the vehicle to go airborne and strike trees.
