PRESS RELEASE
 

On Saturday September 26, 2020 at approximately 12:56 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit responded to a motorcycle crash on State Route 17 in the town of Sanford.  The passenger of the motorcycle later died at the hospital. 

Troopers were dispatched by Broome County 911 to Route 17 near exit 82.  When they arrived on scene, they rendered aid to both the driver and passenger until EMS arrived.  An investigation at the scene revealed that 23-year old Thomas J. Alsdorf of Washintonville, NY was traveling west on State Route 17 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when for an unknown reason went off the roadway and struck a guiderail.  Both occupants were ejected. 

Alsdorf was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition.  The passenger, 21-year old Angela P. Decker of Westtown, NY was transported by Deposit ambulance to Wilson Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.
