PRESS RELEASE
 

On July 31, 2021 shortly after 10:30 a.m., Troopers and other first responders were dispatched to Canadarago Lake for a man that went into the water and did not resurface. 

Members of the New York State Police, the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department, State Park Police, Richfield EMS, Fly Creek EMS and Milford Fire Department responded to the scene in an effort to find the man. 

An investigation at the scene revealed that 54-year-old David M. Morrissey of Mohawk, NY went into the lake after he saw his boat drifting away while he was on Deowongo Island.  Morrissey did not resurface. 

Morrissey was recovered from the lake several hours later by the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team.
